My room mate and I where going back to my home town to celebrate/give thanks with my mother.
It was a normal Wesday morning when we flew out of O'Hare. Back to Hailey, Idaho. And it felt like no time at all till I was back in the house I grew up in, being hugged by the woman that I love the most in the world and the only person that I have looked up to all my life! My Mom!
It was just going to be the three of us. Kat's (My room mate) family and her don't get along very well so I asked her to come with me and she happliy agreed. Are plans was to have a girls fun Thanksgiving weekend! We would get there Wesnday and do petacures and mancures in are pjs. and watch are favorite christmas movies. Thursday we would sleep in and get up and all help make Thanksgiving dinner for the 3 of us! Drink a ton of wine and just be thankful of for everything we have! Great friends, great family, (well some of us! Kat added) and great health. Friday and Saturday pretty much the same stuff. Friday afternoon it happened. My mom took my hand and told me she would like me to stay longer and she would pay the difference on changing my flight. I wondered why and she told me that she had a doctor's apointment on Monday that she wanted me to be there for. I got scared and freaked out. She said that she thinks she may have Breast Cancer and that it is advanced. They are getting the bio results on Monday and she wants me there with her she doesn't want to hear it alone.
So I sat there looking at the tiled floor and wondered how many other people have sat and looked at this floor and felt the same way....
The doctors come in. Its Positive. Its not only in her breasts but haves stread to her lungs. And they can put her on kemo but it may not cure it all.
I threw up. Right there. On the floor.
So that is the reason I haven't been online. I am moving back to Idaho to take care of my mom and to help her fight this. I will miss Chicago and all the friends I have made here!
