a change in pace
This morning they were talking about people burning out by their 20s.. and men getting vasectomies early too..
I'm aware that I'm still only 20. but I've always been "too mature" for my age. I've partied and gone to clubs.. been to crazy house parties.. gotten drunk.. had the morning regrets of the night before.. the mistakes.. the terrible nightmares of partying gone bad..
And I'm sorry to say it, but I'm done with the wild and crazy partying. I'll still go to them once in a while, but I don't drink much anymore.. My 21st birthday is coming up in a couple months, and I can't wait to get into bars legally.. BUT.. I'm not looking forward to getting wasted or blacking out or anything like that. I just want to see what the bar scene is all about..
I'm all about experiences.. and well, hosting parties.. That's pretty much the only thing I'm excited about with my 21st birthday.. I have more options as far as locations are concerned for various parties and events.
For those of you reading that don't know me, I don't want you thinking that I'm a total loser, that I don't know what I'm missing out on, or anything like that.. I personally just think it's too embarrassing to be seen in public when I can barely feel the tip of my tongue.
As far as the vasectomies are concerned. I didn't hear the whole conversation because I stepped out of my car to fill up my tank and grab some breakfast.. but one guy argued that his reason for getting the procedure done was that he already had a career going for him, he was working his way through college, and he already had one kid and that was enough for now (he also mentioned his past experiences being abused as a child). Although I feel that these are all valid reasons for choosing not to have children, I still felt a little sad about it. I don't have kids, but I can't wait to have my own. I'm lucky to have a boyfriend who loves kids and wants them as much as I do.. and to think about being with someone who thinks "just one is enough" is a little much for me.
Like I said, I'm only 20 years old. My friends call me every week to ask where the parties are for the weekend. I enthusiastically plan outings and events centered around having the times of our lives and taking lots of pictures to prove it.. but I can feel myself burning out too.
I worry constantly about money.. I know there are bills to pay.. I worry about my career and what my passion truly is and if I'm making mistakes that I won't be able to undo later on.. I go through the "what if" questions that I've seen people go through when they're in their 40s.
Basically, I think it all boils down to the fact that I think way too much.
new new new
I'm new to the MOB! yay!
But I'm off to work so I'll figure it out tonight.
