1. No regrets....ever.
Life is too short to have regrets. You'll waste too much time on things you can't change.
2. Always tip your bartender.
It might suck at first but it will pay off in the long run. Those who control your alcohol are important.
3. Take chances.
You only live once. So make mistakes and have fun!
4. Have secrets.
A little mystery is good.
5. But, have a friend you could tell anything to and vice versa.
Good friend, best friend, close friend. Whatever you like to call it. Don't necessarily tell them everything but know that you could. Have a friend you know will always be there for you.
6. It's okay to be a better friend to someone than they are to you.
Don't let them take advantage of it though. No friendship can be completely equal but it also should not be one-sided.
7. Know lots of people but only have a few friends.
It's a self preservation thing.
8. Have something you would fight for.
A belief, a cause, etc
9. If you are not understood then clarify yourself.
Don't be afraid to speak up. Too much time is wasted with things that aren't said or were misinterpreted.
10. Always strive for more.
Be happy with where you are but know you can always do better with a little added effort.
11. Don't let bullshit and drama rule your life.
It's okay to mildly obsess things. A one week obsessing limit sounds about right.
12. Learn how to LIG, let it go.
You can't move forward if you are still stuck in the past.
13. Have inside jokes between friends.
They can be the biggest benefit of being friends.
14. Splurge on something you love.
Whether it's a car, a pair of shoes, an outfit, a person.
15. Be a dork every once in a while and make a fool of yourself.
Being serious all the time can be tiresome.
16. Stand up for yourself.
Teasing is always fun but never let anyone make you feel bad about who you are.
17. Know that not everyone is going to get you.
They may not think you're funny, smart, or they just might not like you in general.
18. You can't please everyone.
Don't try, it's not worth it.
19. Have a character from a movie/ tv show you can relate to.
It's one way I vent. I seriously think Carrie from "Sex and the City" is an older, more fashionable version of myself. It sounds weird, but with almost every episode I watch it's like they took scenes from my life.
20. Music can make all the difference.
Another way to vent. I've got a mix for just about every mood. I have what I like to call my "Fuck the World" mix. I throw it on when I'm angry and I feel so much better after. I also have a mix for when I'm getting ready to go out, it makes me feel good.
21. It's great to be different. Break the mold.
I'm a woman who LOVES football, action movies, can handle her alcohol, hang and joke with the guys just fine, max on some pizza and wings, doesn't mind getting dirty, and doesn't stress if her hair is out of place. I like it that way. I prefer all of that to a day of nails, make-up, and shopping with the girls.
22. Have a guilty pleasure or two or three....but feel no guilt.
Whatever it is: chocolate, porn, shoes, late night tv, gossip magazines, etc. A few of my guilty pleasures are "Sex and the City", Dr. Pepper, skirts with stilettos, and guys with nice bodies. I like to look.
23. Don't have a "type."
Or better yet, don't limit yourself to your "type" because you could be missing out on something incredible.
24. Watch your back.
It doesn't mean you shouldn't trust people but always take out your own insurance. If it comes down to you vs. them make sure you have got that trump card.
25. It is okay to be stubborn but know when to give in.
This one is particularly hard for me because I can be super stubborn.
26. Accept blame where blame is do.
You can't always blame others, alcohol, etc. for things that are your fault. Grow up and accept responsibility.
27. Use unfair tactics in verbal communication but in moderation.
Too detailed to explain now. If you want to know more just ask.
28. Competitiveness breeds character.
It makes you strong if you win and even stronger if you lose, as long as you try harder next time.
29. Laugh
Laugh loud and laugh often
30. Beyonce has some wisdom after well....
Know that to someone you are truly irreplaceable and they like you just the way you are, flaws and all.
31. Realize the EVERYONE has flaws.
If you think that you or anyone else perfect you are sadly mistaken.
32. Everything in moderation.
When you have too much of something that is when the problems start. Too much alcohol, too much food, too much closeness. There are probably only two things you can never have too much of: money and sex.
33. A bad kisser is a deal breaker.
You can be trained but at a certain point it's a lost cause.
34. Have a specialty, something you know you're good at and proud of.
A few of mine...I'm great at sudoku. I'm crafty, especially when it comes to organizing parties (invites, decorations, favors). I have got some specialties in the kitchen too: tuna cassarole, beef stew, bbq chicken. My vanilla cupcakes are amazing too!
35. Be confident and just a little bit cocky.
When you're too cocky you almost become a caricature of yourself and just a big joke to others.
